george12182
I am looking for a mold for a football head that has a double collar. However the only one I can seem to find is one for a weedless head by do it. I was thinking of buying this and just not installing the weed guard. I would then just have the hole for the weedguard in the jig head which would be fine I think. If it's easy I would rather not have the hole though. Does anyone know how hard this would so the it doesn't pour the hold for the weedguard. Since I don't have this mold yet, I can't provide any photos or any additonal info which is probably going to limit my answers to people who have weedless jig molds. Basseducer
George you can do that one of two ways. You can grind down a base hole pin so that it only goes to the edge of the cavity and it will block the lead at that point or pour without the base hole pin, the lead will flow into the channel for the weedguard and then cut the extra lead off flush to the head after you de-mold. Hope this helps.
cadman
George, Exactly what Basseducer said, he beat me to it............Good explanation TJ, I didn't think of grinding down the base hole pin. george12182
Weedless Football Jig FBB-4H-AFM is the one I'm planning on buying. I was able to find some pics of the opened mold on ebay. I see what your saying. It seems like it should be pretty easy. Thanks for the info and quick replies.
george12182
cadman, do you know if the model I listed takes basehole pins? I think I read in a different post, that you said some of the weedless footballs take basehole pins and some don't.
