Calihunt13
Has anyone here every applied a chrome finish to their lead. Or had it done?? I like the chrome finish for jigging spoons, but it is cheaper to buy the lead ones. The lead is easy to paint, but was wondering if it is easy/hard........cheap/pricey......to get a chromed look??? 21xdc
When you clearcoat the chrome paint, It dulls out. How about brushing on epoxy and dipping into ultra fine silver glitter and after it dries, Coat with epoxy again? Looks great.
reeves
I sent some for a customer last year to a plater in Wisconsin (I think). If I remember right, it was about $.22 a copy for chroming. Seems a little pricy to me, but you know how those fishermen are!
Vodkaman
I know that the chrome paint dulls with a D2T coating. My question is what is the effect of D2T on a properly plated chrome? I guess the simple answer would be to find a chromed item and apply some epoxy. Has anyone been down this road? Dave
clamboni
you can clear over a nickel finish without it dulling. freshly poured lead also stays nice and shiny after clearing, with both D2T and DN. Haven't tried anything else.
