BuckSnort
I have Lee Production pot that I use for pouring Jigs...Lately it has been dripping and I cant seem to get it to stop...When it has done this before I would use a straightened out hook and hold it with pliers and stick it into the release spout and twist it around and the dripping would stop for a while...This dont work any more and the dripping is annoying while I'm trying to pour.. I thought about pouring all of the lead out of the pot to see if it needs cleaning down there by the spout but I was worried that when I run it low in lead that all the impurites that are on the top would get into the spout/stopper... Any help would be appreciated..
dannyp
Mine drips, its the nature of the beast,, Drain it our complety and once its cool enough you can take the handle off by taking off the 3-4 small screw up top. Clean out the pot and down in the pour hole do as you have been doing,,, may need to turn the pot back on so be careful about burning yourself, Take the rod and with a good emery cloth scrub it down, pay attention to where it goes in the pour hole. I just put my ignot tray underneath mine and let it drip.
fishcrazy
When mine starts to drip I take a screwdriver and turn the rod that goes into the spout back and forth with a little pressure seems to last for several hours before I have to do it again Mike
revbigpapa
When my lee pot goes to dripping I hold a ladle up under the spout and stick a candle directly into the hole.Keep ladle under spout to catch wax and lead drips.About three seconds after sticking candle in spout it will spit out what ever trash is hung up in it,and it pour a solid stream againand shut off when you let the handle go.Repeat as needed,if spout is really nasty it may take a couple of tries. Jig Man
I must have the wrong kind of candle. I couldn't get it to work so I had to do the drain, clean, reload with my pot.
HookUp
First, start with clean lead. If not, heat, cool, heat, scrap off top level of scum, cool, heat, scrap until gone. Then use the screwdriver trick AND I've crafted a tool with .018 diamter leader wire - run that up the hole before you do the screwdriver trick. Something's stuck on the plunger part of the lee pot.
