Chartruse Powder Paint

Recommended Posts

I guess you are hanging them on your rack by the hook eye correct?

By running down do you mean you get a tear drop look. If it's a tear drop look, you have way too much paint on the jig. I have never had any problem with any color dripping. What type of jig, what type of powderpaint (Pro-Tec)? Post some pics so we can see and assess the problem.

No I'm hanging them by the wire end. I have tried it both ways. First on the ultra minnow spinnerbait heads. I figured I had too much paint on the heads, but I am swishing them in a plastic bowl. I'm using the pro tec and also the netcraft paint.

Well I was doing 15 on this particular order. You have to keep reheating the head when using the paintbrush method, don't you?

If the jig is hot enough no, but if you are applying several colors, yes you have to constantly make sure the head is hot so the new powder sticks to the old powder.

I use the chartreuse and green chart from Janns Netcraft (It's Prot-Tec just rebottled) and have only had a few get drip heads only cause I left in the powder too long.

I've only done one spinnerbait but I hung mine from the hook not the wire.

I'm trying to remember the thread where someone here made a fluid bed with 5 in PVC and set it up to take spinner baits. I'll keep looking for it. I remember the two slots had some kind of soft rubber sleeve to keep the powder in though.
