MTfishingrods
Looks great! I would have some blocks handy for blocking up the odd sized molds. other than that.
Vodkaman
The setup looks very good. I did notice a slight sag in the top plate, that the pot sits on. This is likely to get worse over time. You could preempt this condition be adding a support beam, positioned across the centre. Dave
Tman2
I wonder if that's not an optical illusion. With what I know of that kind of material the pot is sitting on, it should be plenty strong enough for this purpose. Now, if it's subjected to a lot of moisture (humidity, overflow) it will deteriorate. I thought maybe it was being pulled down by the long bolts on either side, but they seem to be pulling onto it itself (it's not connected to anything else. Only way to know, would be to sight down the front edge, viewed from the side. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to add a permanent piece under the pot. Vodkaman
Tman2, I do believe you are correct. Re-examining the photo, The front edge appears to be curved to improve the over hang. Well, if it aint broke, don't fix it. If it ever does start to sag, you have a solution ready. Dave
gone2long
Thanks for the input guys, ya know I didn't even notice that until you guys brought it up and I'm going to err on the side of caution and replace the partical board base with solid lumber. My concern is in humid weather it may cause premature failure and thats not a risk I would like to take with a full pot of 350 degree plastic. Thanks again and keep the ideas coming!
