Vodkaman Posted March 21, 2009 Report Share Posted March 21, 2009 The setup looks very good. I did notice a slight sag in the top plate, that the pot sits on. This is likely to get worse over time. With what I know of that kind of material the pot is sitting on, it should be plenty strong enough for this purpose. Now, if it's subjected to a lot of moisture (humidity, overflow) it will deteriorate. I thought maybe it was being pulled down by the long bolts on either side, but they seem to be pulling onto it itself (it's not connected to anything else. Only way to know, would be to sight down the front edge, viewed from the side. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to add a permanent piece under the pot. gone2long Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 22, 2009 Thanks for the input guys, ya know I didn't even notice that until you guys brought it up and I'm going to err on the side of caution and replace the partical board base with solid lumber. My concern is in humid weather it may cause premature failure and thats not a risk I would like to take with a full pot of 350 degree plastic. Thanks again and keep the ideas coming!
