toluma
Hey Guys, reading for months but never opened or respond to a thread. My Question is, does anybody of you have experiences with shipping plastic to Germany / Europe? Im thinking about the 2.5 Gallon / 5 Gallon sizes. What do companies charge for shipping? I prefer the cheapest and slowest way. many thanks in advance Tobey
bear21211
I just shipped 5 gallons to France it was 226.00 USD for shipping. Took 4 trips to post office to get all the paper work right . Big Big Hassle. hope that helps
diemai
@ toluma Sorry , can't answer your question , ........but in Germany you can obtain all pouring ingredients at http://www.lbkoeder.de , but these are also quite costly , I guess(don't know nothing 'bout pouring plastics) . For example 1 litre of plastic costs about
MTfishingrods
I guess we should all think about this the next time we complain of the rising costs.
Green_Fingers
Hi and welcome to TU fellow euro pourer! I live in switzerland and have been pouring for around 3 years, I order all my plastic from MF Manafacturing the US. Deimai is correct you can order plastic in europe, either from lureparts.nl and another French site, bricoleure.com (sp!!) but it doesn't work out much cheaper and the plastic from Lureparts.nl I have treid and (in my opinion) is not as good as MF's plastic by far, smells really nasty and is not as tear resistant. When shipping from the US to switzerland I have never had to pay any import duty or tax on plastic or molds, which is unusual cos they tax everything else! if you are not in a hurry MF can ship with US postal service via sea, which is fairly inexpensive but takes about 8 weeks!!! I on the other hand have no patience so I shut up and pay th 200$ DHL fee! Good luck and look forward to seeing some pics fo your work. Green_Fingers
Tobey, I cant remember the exact quote they gave me but I think it was about 24$ for USP for (I think it was) 4 pints of regulr plastic, a quart of saltwater plastic and 10 small containers of colour and glitter. So at a wild guess it would be about 60-80$ shipping on the gallon but best to get a quote from MF. Thanks for posting the link 152nd. Cheers, Simon
Green_Fingers
Here is a link to the French site I mentioned that sells plastisol ( I have never tried plastisol from this site so can not comment on quality) but did notice they now sell 5 litre's at 81 euros, so may be the cheapest alternative!
