MarcDavidBaits
I am down to these two clear coats. If anyone uses either of them, please let me know which you like and why. This will help me decide which clear coat I will try next. Thanks!
RiverMan
If an epoxy won't be too thick on your lure then etex is hard to beat. RM
jamie
I go with riverman Etex is hard to beat. Ive tried all different types and always came back to etex. I havent tried the clear that mark poulsin and Snax use but Ive been thinking of trying it due to you dont have to rotate like you would with etex. mark poulson
Jamie, If you're talking about the Nu Lustre 55, you do need to rotate it just like Etex. They are both decoupage, self leveling epoxies, so they will sag and drip if you don't rotate them for at least 12 hours, and let them sit for at least 24 hours before handling. I recoat my Nu Luster after 12 hours, but I don't handle the final coated lure for 24 hours.
diemai
I have had bad experience with Etex coming off some lures in large chips , after the topcoat was pierced by pikes teeth . Obviously for some reason it did not adhere well to the paint coat underneath , which I now blame on maybe solvent based rattlecan paints , also oil or resin inside of the wood blanks are an possibility , since it only happened to a few lures . I don't use Etex anymore . good luck:yay: , diemai
rdm1984
Can somebody tell me where to buy e-tex?
MarcDavidBaits
If I dip the bait in etex, would it be fine if I hung it vertical? Or do I need to make a rotater?

bobv
You can get Etex at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. It's call Envirotex Lite and it's with the other laminating stuff. Edited March 31, 2009 by bobv

I thought I remebered Snax saying when this stuff was first comming out that the positive to this stuff was no rotation. It goes to show that after awhile all this info blends together to me and I was probably thinking of something else.

Once again sorry, it just too many facts for a poor boy from WV to try to remember. Or maybe it was just too many beers after work. Im leaning torwards the beers. spidergrub6
Hi guys, I just picked up some envirotex and have built a drying rack for my baits my question is do you thin the etex with anything and if so what is the ratio? Is the ratio different for the seal coat verses the top coat? Thanks.
