finlander
The 100% Dow that I used last year came out like taffy...very tough to stir in the water. How do you thin it?? Warm it?? Jerry- talked with Noel today and ordered that plastic paint kit. Seems he has sent it out to several individuals, over some time though. Quite a story teller. A former Michigander too. Didn't want me to send him any of our sn*w and 19 degree weather to Florida. Can't wait to start this project.
Mercury
I have done the silicon mold and used the cheepest silicon I could find. It never for like a maple syrup or white syrup for thickness. But it did get to be more smooth as far as a texture goes. Does that help? You can use it straight out of the tube (no water) but you can only do 1/4 inch layers at a time. Ive seen a thinner for silicone but the cost will make it higher than RTV, so if you want a thinner viscosity your best bet is to bite the bullet & buy some RTV. Good luck
