Da big tuna
Hi, Would anyone have any thoughts on what to use instead of manufactured bodies to weight little trout spinners. I have used bullet weights with some success . I make anything from 1/8 to 1/4 spinners. I have tons of lead so I would not be opposed to pouring something. MTfishingrods
Do it molds makes a lure body mold. I have one, but havnt used it for a couple months so cant think of the model number of the top of my head. It makes several different lengths and weights of bodies. diemai
@ Da big tuna I have made spinnerbodies out of copper wire coiled around a nail , horizontally fixed in a vise . Uploaded them in the gallery somewhere , but it was way back all of my uploads . Need to do a gallery search by name to find them . greetz , diemai:yay:
smalljaw
Try Mojo finesse weights, they aare long and cylindrical in shape and hollow, the idea is to place your line into a wire and pull the wire into the weight and bend the wire out of the bottom of the weight and cut the escess off. To make a spinner body out of it would be fairly simple, the weights come in 1/16oz to 3/8oz and resemble the body of a rooster tail spinner. Da big tuna
Those Mojo's look great and I think they are the answer. I wish I had that mold. I would pour up a storm. Now my wire bender broke so i'm not having much luck. Looking to go one step up from the little metal worth tackle one. Any suggestions. MTfishingrods
The do it mold is exactly that. If you want to pour them instead of buying them look at their site and look up lure body mold.
