wambeany
I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for applying something to make rod tips more visible. I was thinking some kind of paint, but was not sure what kind to use. Thanks
hazmail
As always, it's herad when you wont say where you are BUT you can buy "nibble tips" here (australia), they come in fluro colours and they screw onto the last runner of the rod, so I am sure you could get them in US. https://www.sellmystuff.com.au/buystuff/classified/Nibble+rod+with+florescent+tips__633__180580.htm You could always buy some 'glow' in the dark paint and paint your rod tip. pete
Vodkaman
In the UK, they are called quiver tips. They screw into a threaded tip eye. I don't know what they are called on planet "???". Modern materials allow the sections to be made super thin, so I understand the problem. If visibility is that important to you, consider a small balsa bead to carry the color. If it does not work out, just slice it off. Dave
KcDano
Run some fiber optic strands inside the rod until they won't go any farther. Remove and measure the length of the strands transfer that measurement to the rod. Strip off the rod finish from the measured mark to the tip. Take one of the brightest LEDs you can find, several button size batteries and a small switch. Placing all the batteries and switch in the butt end of the rod and you might get a glowing tip! klail
I like the ones Pete and Dave are talking about. I'm cheap and just wrapped the last 6 inches or so with florescent tape on my cat rods. Just a smooth single layer wrap parallel to the blank.
