bobbyd
Has anyone had the chance to use these jigs? I am trying to decide which jig mold for heavy cover and I know some of you have casted this jig. Was just wondering if the jig itself is as good as advertised. Thanks. cadman
That's a hard question to answer. I have sold a lot of these, so someone out there must like them. I think the 1/4 oz jig version of this is a little top heavy. Every jig that is made is good for some application, not all jigs can be used in rocks or weeds. Also there is a confidence factor, and a personal choice, that makes you fish a jig the way you do. Overall the Brush Jig is a good jig. Just my opinion. Stagio
I have used them quite a bit this year already. I can say they are pretty good in and around brush, GREAT around standing timber. They do leave a little to be desired around boulders when you are bottom bouncing, but there really isn't a shape that will keep you from getting wedged between 2 rocks. I do wish they would come out with some lighter models for finesse fishing. That has been the chief complaint from my customers is that you are limited to 1/4 oz and up. Grass hasn't really come up yet around the lakes I fish so I haven't really been able to test that so far.
bobbyd
Thanks cadman and stagio, I really appreciate the responses. As for the rocks, the football head jig has done a real nice job for me so far, but like you said, there are times when you'll get stuck regardless. One thing I do like about the football mold is it also has a 1/8 oz jighead. Thanks again and good fishing.
