Should you melt the hardener first and then add fresh plastic? Melt the hardener and plastic together? I tried the second and the hardener just stayed in a thick lump. Thanks in advance. TimD. jimcline Posted May 3, 2009 Report Share Posted May 3, 2009 Tim, first of all make sure your hardener is stirred up very well before you add it to COLD plastic. And then make sure you mix the plastic and hardener very well also. I actually pour my hardener out into a pyrex cup every so often and take a blender to it to make sure it isn't settling. Also make sure your plastic isn't settling too. Really shake it or stir it well. Just a few basic steps and you should be okay.
