bear21211
Jdizzle Welcome aboard. To get started you will need several items, There are several suppliers on here that can supply your needs. 1st Liquid Plastic,Then you will need some colorants start with basic colors that you use on baits that you fish. Glitter if you want to use it. You will need a heat source for your plastic. That can be a microwave oven and Pyrex measuring cups or electric hot plates with pans or you can go with the melting pots. Some even have mixing motors on them to keep your glitter and additives suspended in your plastic. Then you will need at least one mold . Injection hand pour single sided or 2 sided will all be a matter of how much money you want to invest initially. One mold will be very slow and probably grow frustrating but it will also tell you if you are going to like it. If you are new to this I would recommend you start with small amounts to see if you want to continue, you can always add more supplies after you decide you want to continue. Do a lot of reading here this place has a world of knowledge available to you that will save you headaches time and money plus there is a lot of things to not do that people have posted for your safety and to keep you from making mistakes others have. Ask questions if you can not find your answer here using the search feature. There are plenty of guys waiting in the wings to give you support. Good Luck and Look us up if you need some help. MTfishingrods
If you want a great plastic for starting out with, try the BBCP. At Bears Baits It pours great, works awesome out of the microwave. Virtually bubble free. Anyone can pour this stuff. You can also get anything else you need to get started there also but do yourself a favor and at least start with that plastic. Pitbull Baits
These people seem to be on the wrong fourm. I just got the beaver mold I can wait to use it along with some stik molds. All you need is some plastic, color, glitter, scent and a presto pot. Oh forgot some money really helps too.
Pitbull Baits
Also I had just got a sample from Bear Baits of his RTV 5" minnow it would make a great jerk bait. Bear is very cool to work with on getting a few samples to you. So you can see the finished product before you drop some cash on some molds you may not like. I would like to say if MT can pour plastic then anyone can lol Yes MT is my buddy so chill !!!!!!!!!!
