D.J.
I just opened a new 5 gallon jug of M-F super soft and it smells so bad that I can't even use it. It has a real heavy chemical type smell to it. Has this happened to anyone on here? I have been pouring and using M-F for years so I know what the stuff is supposed to smell like. I even tried adding more scent to mask the smell, but it doesn't seem to work.
pastorshane
I got a new 5 gallon jug last week and have not noticed that:mad:
GB GONE
DJ..... email or call Jeff right away. I haven't had any issues and I know they have not changed their fomula recently. (Been talking with Jeff lately..) Jeff makes all the plastic batches so he can tell you what is up. Maybe he doubled the stabilizer by accident.... One thing is FOR SURE, they will make things right quick!!! Jim Edited May 14, 2009 by ghostbaits
D.J.
Thanks guys. I know they will make it right. I just thought it was weird because I have never had an issue in all the years I have used M-F.
GB GONE
Let us know DJ as I am interested in keeping up. BTW... Did you cook any of the plastic and did it react any different than the "normal" batches? Guessing you did as you mentioned the scent did not cover up the chemical smell.... Good luck!!!!!! D.J.
Jim, the plastic seems to pour the same, as I poured up a couple of 1 cup batches. It is just the smell that is overwhelming. I even took some left over plastic out of 4 different 5 gallon jugs and did 4 different tests to compare smell. The new stuff is just way off for some reason. I will be calling Jeff here shortly. I will keep you posted.
GB GONE
If memory serves me, the chemical smell will "evaporate" away after a couple days from the poured baits. Not suggesting I would keep the plastic or use it for customer baits but I believe that extra stabilizer smell will go away quick. Hope they have not changed things up again!!! D.J.
Jeff is taking care of me. I guess they found a couple of contaminated drums and they are trying to make sure they get it all. They were great about it and I have new plastic on the way. Great service!!
