kevtherev
I am repeatedly reheating some clear LC plastic for dipping and getting a nasty yellow color after 2 or more reheats. This is the new "green" plastic formula 552. I wonder if this formula reacts differently than the regular 502 or if it is from too much heat? I am not using a temp gun, only stirring and seeing how thin it is. kevtherev
rxfish
Haven't used either of those formulas but thinking to much heat.
longhorn
I also dip a lot of baits. I've found that no matter what brand it turns yellow after a few reheats. I re-use it for colors that the yellowish tint won't matter so it's no big deal to me.
nova
You have to use some heat stabilizer. This will allow you a few more reheats. What I do after it starts to turn is use it to make a dark color like green pumpkin or black, even pumpkinseed. Just don't let it turn too much as it will take on an unpleasant odor. www.novalures.com
MTfishingrods
I know I sound like a broken record here but here I go again. I dont know if this will work for you since its only available in soft but the BBCP plastic from bears baits is the clearest I have seen even after multiple reheats in the microwave. But it is only available in soft so its not a tube plastic. Not really sure what your using it for. Maybe it would work if your just using it to seal colors and eyes. Maybe not, just thought I would mention it. When I say multiple reheats I have done 5 to 6 with no color changes. Zbass
X2 on the BBCP. I heat with pots and pans and have had the same results. I have reheated it 4 times with no ill affects. MT is correct that it is only in the soft formula. I beleive bearbaits is working on some other formulas that may suit you better than the soft. If a soft texture is what you're after, check it out. outdooradvantage
That plastic does come out clear after multiple reheats that is for sure. I use it on grubs that I inject and reheat quite a few times with no discolor.
