Blacksheep
Looking for someone to point me in the right direction, or make me some spoons. 5" Slab spoons similar to Strike King. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
ROWINGADUBAY
I believe you can make a good facsimile two ways the first would be to cut some round or hexagon bar stock on an angle so you get them the size you want then polish them and finish the other way is to make a mold and pour lead check this site out tons of stuff that will help!!! You can also buy some jiggin/casting spoon molds from DO-IT I found barlows tackle to sell them cheaper than right from do-it don't know how that works hope this helped !!! pirkfan
I'm not quite sure what the Strike King 5" slab spoon looks like, I looked in their on line catalog and didn't see anything like that. Shawn Collins makes a bunch of different molds for various fish shaped slabs...some of which are not in his on-line catalog. Ask him to e-mail you an example of all his fish shaped slab molds. satterly
Collins has lots of nice casting spoons to choose from. Biggest problem is making an order, I have been trying to contact him all week about ordering some molds and cannot get a reply:(
pirkfan
Shawn Collins seems to be a very busy guy, and I've found that the paypal route seems to be the best way to order. I email him, asking for pictures of products I'm interested in and prices, he emails back with pictures, mold configurations and prices, and I then order directly through Paypal, specifying the mold and configuration I want and sending him payment at the same time. About a month or so later I get the product. This is fine for me since I'm not a manufacturer, just make lures as a hobby. He makes very nice stuff, and I'm happy that he's busy, we'd lose a very talented resource for molds if he didn't have enough work to stay in business.
