Jig spin - anyone making these?

Recommended Posts

Hey Termite:

Jig spins work well, but it's like everything else we use; nothing works all the time. Also be aware that it is very difficult to modify a jig head with a wire and blade and have it work well. Also be aware that there are many types of plastic trailers that can be used on the jig spins and invariably they they may or not work on your modified jig spin. I know this is not what you want to hear, but buy some store bought jig spins and some plastic trailers and try them in your area lakes. I have found that whenever spinnerbaits work, jig spins are also likely to work.

If on the other hand you decide to go full steam ahead and build your own, you will probable want to pour about a dozen or so jigs and modify them before you start hacking up your mold. I know they look simple, but getting them right is very time consuming. Most critical is to find the right location on the jig to locate the wire. On mine it was almost directly underneath the jig hook eye, but it could be either forward of or to the rear of this for yours. There are many more details to consider, but I'll leave the fun part to you. Later---Bladebait
