foxbites Posted June 13, 2009 Report Share Posted June 13, 2009 has any one used loctite epoxy? I was at wal-mart today and saw this brand of epoxy. It is where the devcon 2t epoxy use to be. I shop around on the internet for the best Devcon pricing I can find then buy several at a time to try to minimize the shipping cost per tube. CheapTrix Posted June 17, 2009 Report Share Posted June 17, 2009 Yep, Loc-tite cures yellow.....but as an alternative, try Menards brand Power Poxy for Pros 30 minute. I have been experimenting with it and really like the results as an alternative to D2T. It seems to be about the same. You can also buy it in larger quantities than the tubes for about $10. Also be carefull of which version of the 5 minute you get if you want to use it for eyelets. The one that is in yellow packaging is really for use as an adhesive for plastics and wont be verry strong. I have been successful using Loctite Marine epoxy for filling weight holes , misplaced gouges, and holding eyelets, but it takes an hour or longer to cure. It is very thick and gray in color.
