timjohnson
I have a Do-It Arky Jig mold made for the Mustad 32798 60 degree flat eye hook. What other hooks will fit this mold? I've noticed the newer 32798 hooks are MUCH easier to bend than previous runs of the hooks. Seems like since they have changed the factory to another country, the hooks are not the same. Anyone else notice the same? The hooks bend out way too easy. I'm looking for a hook that doesn't straighten out as easily. I would like to mold the 3/8 and 1/2 ounce with a 4/0 or 5/0 hook. uppermiss_rat316
Gammies flat eye fits in there, with slight mold modification the 32796 fits, its a flipping flat eye hook, much thicker than the 798.
Ogajiga
T.J., just letting you know you're not alone. I got a very bad batch of 32729 recently and Mustad denied there was anything wrong with them! Well, I'll never buy another 32729 from them and am also phasing out 32746. In fact, also discontinued 34184 & 91715 a few years ago due to deteriorating quality. Only Mustads I use now are 3 sizes of 32786 & if that slips I'll switch entirely to VMC 7161. I don't used turned eye hooks, but VMC makes a 32798 equivelant.
Jig Man
I have been using 91768NPBLN hooks in my Arke mold. It takes a bit of bending but it isn't hard to do.
