ROWINGADUBAY
I took apart my ambassaduer C4 and cleaned everything and used Quantum hot sauce grease and oil for lube everything functions correctly andworks good but not great. I don't believe any bearing are bad .The reason I did it was because I used it in salt water and a local from floreida told me the don't hold up to the salt but everything looked good so I just did a good clean and lubeI was wondering is there anyplace that you should not use grease and just oil or nothing at all ? Or am I using the wrong type of lube? Thank in advsnce fo your help George
oldschoolbasser
Hey George, your problem might be too much oil on the bearings,or grease on them. You might want to soak the bearings in lighter fluid to get all the dirt out.Let them air dry,or blow them out with compressed air.Add just 1 small drop of oil to each bearing, and see if that makes a difference.I only put grease on the pinion gear, and a small amount on the worm gear.I add a smalldrop of oil on each post holding the pinion gear yoke, a drop on the cog wheel post, a dropon the worm gear collar, and a drop under the spool release arms. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, email me at jchinsr@gmail.com.Regards,Oldschool

oldschoolbasser
I use a dental pick, but you can also use a knitting needle,or any tool with a small hook on the end.
