cavu
I had a little trouble with the glue on the back of one particular color of 3D eyes I purchased from WTP, Inc. The color was 405 or flourscent red with black pupil. They told me they had recieved complaints about the glue used on this color (or how the glue reacted with this color). I returned the unused portion and as many used ones as I could find. They graciously replaced all 1000 eyes, however I was told that the eyes were not guarenteed for more than 6 months. I assume that there is a shelf life for these eyes. I alway buy by the thousand, but never expected to use them all in six months. Anyone have experience witht his problem? redg8r
Honestly, I dont trust the adhesive on any color eyes, from any maker. I use the adhesive long enough to hold them in place for a topcoat over the bait, eyes & all. No worries after that. If you clearcoat your baits I'd do it after you've added the eyes. take care,
BassNator 1
I agree with red-g8r and dont trust the adhesives on the eyes. When I epoxy the lip on my lure, I also put a dab of epoxy on the back of the eyes and attach them to the lure. That will hold it pretty good until the top coat gets put on. After the top coat is put on it should be good to go and hold, HOPEFULL FOREVER!! Cody
siebler_custom_baits
I glue down the eyes on all my lures( jigs, plastics, ect.) I have found that the addhesive on the eyes from the supply shop isnt good at all, good thing i always glue them down. I will continue to buy from here but wont trust the adhessive. robertjp
Ive been putting the 3d eyes on just after topcoat when its starting to dry. By the time the topcoat is dry, those eyes arent going anywhere. BP
