CoosaKing
Ok guys I use .032 wire on my night blades. I feel that it gives them a better thump. After several trips and some mean Spotted Bass they become hard to turn and end up getting discarded, the components salvaged of course. I melt the heads back down and reuse the hook if possible. If I use D2T as my top coat is it still necessary to bake my powder coat? I figure I would just save time from trial and error and get yall's
cadman
No it's not necessary, but I personally wouldn't make any jig or spinnerbait that way. Don't cut corners and you won't be sorry. Let's face it Devcon will wear off after repeatedly throwing a jig or a spinnerbait in the water. There are rocks and debris along the shoreline and in deeper water. Once your Devcon is compromised, your paint won't last without baking it to cure it. So do it right the first time. Just my worth. ROWINGADUBAY
I dont bake most of my jigs because I lose them before it chips off it is just where the fish are up here, but a spinner bait is a different story I would bake them or they will chip some say you can start the curing process by using a heat gun after you dip them but I think it would be easier to bake them I know alot of guys that powder a bunch then cure them in the oven while there wife is gone and the wife never know so it doesnt hurt anything and the powdser lasts a long time if it ever peels or chips. hope this helps George
