wildtail97
Has anyone used the NEW GREEN PLASTIC from the lurecraft site? If so does it work the same way as the other plastics? Heating, pour-ability, can you use the same colorant, scent, additives that we use on our plastisol lures?
empire247
i have used both the 500 and the 502 green, the "green" plastic is a little "tacky" after it sets up for the first day or so but after that it seems ok. if it were "alot" cheaper than the regular i would use it all the time but since it is not much cheaper i prefer to stay with the normal plastic. as far as heating time and set up time it seems the same brett
JDBaits
I recently made two bags of 6" t-sticks, one with 536 and one with the 556 "green plastic". I used the same recipe on both and could not tell a difference on the finished product. The only difference I could tell while working with it was a slightly different smell. Long Lake Lures
I bought some of the medium strength green plastic from LC and have begun experimenting with it. I seems to take a while longer to heat, doesnt smell the same, and the baits feel "drier" or perhaps "less oily" to me than the phthalate based plastic. Pourability seems to be the same and it seems to set up faster than 502 as I am demolding sooner than what I am used to. I have some baits out to my tourney buddies and I will let you know if they have any feedback on durability. Dave
