ROWINGADUBAY Posted June 25, 2009 Report Share Posted June 25, 2009 Hi everyone I am currently interested in opening up a lure component store in central wisconsin (WAUSAU) and I am looking for some feedback honest feedback from some guys that pass through or live in central wisconsin I know location is key I am hoping to get a place right off an off ramp to I-39 so people can gas up and buy some stuff in my store on the way up-north or back I would like to model the store from RIENKE BROTHERS in milwaukee who got me started making lures (anybody that has never been there you need to go there) I would also like to start a lead mold rental where people would pay a fee+deposit to rent various molds by the day or week deposit would have to cover the cost of the new mold of course. I would carry fly+jig tying ,powder paint, spinner blades/bodies, wire,hard bait components, some rod blanks epoxy etc. I would start with some plastisol but get into that as need be but it seems everyone I talk to doesnt think this is a good idea even though there is'nt any stores around that carries components around here I know you can order anything online but its different to be able to walk into a store and look at what you need get the size and color and advice first hand . Now I know I have support from you guys here, but do you guys actually think it could work? shade_skyhi Posted June 26, 2009 Report Share Posted June 26, 2009 well if i lived there i would be there everyday sir i would also stock wood for all kinds of baits and wood turners templates, and other hard to find things i wish you a lot of luck i would suggest going out a couple weekends to either a flea market and sell some of your wares and your own stuff or maybe set up on a corner and see how it sells there if its a great salew there it will be in your own business i would close on half a days during winter make up a bunch of your own plugs, jigs or whatever you make to restock your store and i make some wooden hard baits and my friend makes lead free jigs we can donate a couple hundred to get you stated and a few other tackle underground members may join in or will for a small fee help out with there own baits also just my 2 cents have a nice day holler if i can do anything...........al Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
