KB Tackle
Back again, Is isopropyl alcohol the same as denatured alcohol? Tell you why I ask. I thought I read to prep for final devcon coat with alcohol.(to remove fingerprints) Well I used isopropyl alcohol and it wiped the paint off just like it was wet. Need help please! Thanks
BobP
Nothing will wipe fingerprints off acrylic latex airbrush paint without removing the paint. Denatured alcohol is grain alcohol with an additive to make it undrinkable. Isopropyl is a different alcohol. Limit hand contact with the paint before you epoxy but you don't need to maintain "operating room conditions". Devcon is pretty forgiving about coating over the occasional fingerprint, especially if you brush on a nice even coat and have not added any solvent to the epoxy to thin it. MR KNOW IT ALL KIND OF
Wipe your baits off with a Tack rag.. you can find them at most automotive supply stores that sell paint.. I like the Dupont Tack Rags personally.. I bought some cheaps ones from Walmart before and they are too tacky.
68KingFisher
Nothing will wipe fingerprints off acrylic latex airbrush paint without removing the paint. I always used mineral spirits for this.....it worked good and didn't remove any paint unless you really beared down and tried to remove paint....I even use it for wetsanding acrylics instead of water. benton B
No need to wipe the bait down with anything before clear coating. Blow it off with compressed air to remove any dust and clear coat it. Like Bob said any chemical used will take the paint off the bait.
