mifon
Guys, I've burned the streets of Nashville up trying to find D2T with NO success. So, I'm going to order some online. The problem is there are many products under the name "Devcon 2 Ton Epoxy" that come in many different tubes, freeflow plungers, etc. and in different sizes. Could you guys tell me which is best and which one you use? I will be using this to glue in weed guards onto jigs. Also, if you have a good source, please let me know. Thanks for your help, Mike
cadman
All your Ace Hardware stores have it. Here is some more info for you. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hard-baits/17736-devcon-need-help.html
WidowMaker
I always bought it at WalMart. I buy the largest capacity plunger tube package as possible and i only dispense two equal parts with each individual part being the size of a dime. smalljaw
Wal-Mart has probably demanded a lower price which Devcon won't go for so they stopped selling it but I have an ACE hardware store here that has it so I get it there, it's a little bit more expensive but well worth it. As far as not knowing what to get, look for the Devcon 2 ton epoxy that has the holding power listed as 2500 lbs.
now thats a fish
I haven't found D2T at the ACE's by me.....True Value has D2T. Tractor Supply has a product by Permetex Permatex
smalljaw
It doersn't have to dry clear for weed guards but it does have to be waterproof.
now thats a fish
Smalljaw, Ahhh....good point, didn't think about that. By the way, your metallic spinnerbaits look awesome. Few questions, if you don't mind, where can a guy pick up some of that sili-flash material and did you use a base coat before the metallic powder? Thanks Eric
TTDuckman
I think you will be disappointed by an epoxy that doesn't dry clear. Regardless of how carefull you are putting weedguards in, you will get some around the guard on occasion. With Devcon drying clear, you don't even notice it, but if it dries opaque you will. smalljaw
Thats a Fish, the siliflash skirting isn't on the market yet, I got a sample of the stuff from GLC fishing, they make the perfect skirts for strike king and the easy hub skirting for Z-Man, and they also make the living image skirts available through Fishingskirts.com. The paint is just the candy color powder paint without any base coat which gives it a mettalic look because it lets the shine from the lead come through. Once the siliflash is available I let you know were to get it, right now it's probably going to be offered through Z-Man fishing. Thanks for commenting on those baits, the smallies really like them especially when it's sunny out as you can see them coming through the water from a considerable distance.PM me your e-mail and as soon as it is officially released I find where to get it for you. mifon
He guys, Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I was able to find the D2T at a local R/C (radio control) hobby shop. It makes since that those guys would have similar needs to ours! Also, if you are having trouble finding D2T locally, a search on Google for R/C suppliers will solve your problem! You guys are always the greatest helping me solve what ever challenges I have, and this time was certainly no different! I hope this info will be of use to someone else. Maybe the guys in Canada that stated that D2T couldn't be shipped up north might find what they need at a local R/C shop like I did. Again, THANKS for your help, Mike in TN:)
Munkin
Devcon works great for weedguards but Super Glue Gel works just as well and a lot easier for me. Allen

Im wondering what is the shelf life for these un-opened tubes of Devcon? When Wal-Mart stopped carrying D2T, I stocked up and bought all they had. I have (6) packages of un-opened syringes, and I keep them in the basement in the dark. I've had them for about a year, and have (6) packages of older ones I bought for 2 years and so far no problem. I think dark place is the key.
