danderson
I got an idea from another thread that was talking about marbelizing their topcoat with a little bit of pearl in their envirotex. That got me to thinking about maybe putting white paint in and mixing it thoroughly until the etex is basically white. That could eliminate the need to put a base coat on for me but I didn't know if it would screw up the etex. I thought maybe someone had tried it before and could enlighten me. That's why I love this site.
Basseducer
danderson, I have put soft plastic colorant into my D2T to get transparant colors with no ill effects.
BobP
Hey, it's worth a try but my experience is that I need a heavily pigmented white color basecoat to really hide wood grain, so I'm doubtful that mixing some white paint into an epoxy undercoat would be enough to get the opaque basecoat I want.
