OUTDOORSMAN
I saw a new style of spinner bait thia weekend at a tackle show, and was wondering if anyone has tried to make one or not. the guy cut off the blade arm of the spinner bait and attched a leader cable about the same length of what it was. It seems like a neat idea, but was wondering if anyone has experimented with this, before I try it. I only want to make it for myself not to resell. But before I go and buy everything, I'm just looking fo some input on this.
RL
This style of spinnerbait is not new. It was on the market about ten years ago. It works well in grass but did not catch on with anglers. RL

OUTDOORSMAN
Has anyone tried one ? Do they make any difference than a regular spinnerbait ?
weighinalimit
I used to have some, but I gave them to people I didn't like so they could get aggravated by them! Seriously, I hated the #@** things and I'd advise anyone to carefully consider if it's worth all the rollaids you'll need to carry.
kfellmy
First there is me (Keith Fellmy) and the other Keith (Keith Holladay). Keith Holladay owned Tackle Service Center in Mooresville Indiana. He came up with the idea of a leader wire on the arm of a spinnerbait. But had no idea how to get it rigged together. I came up with crimping a leader connector sleeve to it and crimping the leader material and the spinnerbait wire together. They weren't hooked together in the sleeve. So the leader would come out and be lost in the water. All you got back was the hook/skirt and the part of the wire where you tied your line too. A nameless guy came along and saw it. he went to Brothers Bait Co. and they got it perfected. Then it hit the market in 1986. I will never use one. My friend's idea was stolen. dtrs5kprs
Had a friend in the IA Federation who used them quite a bit around grass with good results...he called them "whippy d-cks", a play on the Limberneck name. Not a bad bait.
Richoc
Get your Idea stolen sucks. We have a pattend lure and now I hear some one down south has copied the basic idea and marketed it. Well we will soon see if it is copy. So much money and time invested so I hope his is an oringal idea. I hate Laywers.
