cintaskevin
Hey guys, can anyone please point me in the right direction? I made my divider out of aluminum and have scratched the surface to try and make it dull. It still sparks like crazy in the microwave. What did you guys use to scratch/dull the surface so that your aluminum divider doesnt spark? Thank you!
bear21211
I think a lot of guys wipe it down with vinegar if I remember correctly. That will dull the finish.
luvtwofish
I used a scouring (metal) pad on mine and does fine in the microwave. On one of my cups there was a very small missed spot on the aluminum and it created sparks..make sure you are thorough in dulling the entire surface. hawghunterbaits
I never had any problems with the one's I have made must be the aluminum I am getting from work, it already has a dull finish on it. I just cut it to size with dremil tool and jb weld it in. Never had any sparks.Let me know if you don't get it fixed I may be able to get you some that I use from work for cost,(about 80 cents per pound I think, I have not brought any in awhile) plus shipping,(around 6 bucks total) Should give you enough for about half a dozen cups depending on size.e-mail me @hawghunterbaits@yahoo.com if interested. nova
I've never had a sparking problem with mine. I didn't use aluminum, I used tin roof flashing. www.novalures.com
