Mercury
Man I have to tell you, I got a few spinners from Coley, and he can sure lay some paint down. Great job Coley! And I thought you were just into plastics.
Coley
Thanks Merc., I really appreciate the nice comments about my painting. But, I don't do plastic, only cranks. I used to do plastic several years ago. I will do plastic in dire need. But, with so many great plastic folks on this site (such as yourself) I would rather buy or swap for what I want. Mercury
Coley if you want I will try to take a few pics of the work you did. My better half now wants to get into making spinners after seeing your work. BTW I will send you a few unfinished banannas so you can play a bit with them. Tally
Hey Coley Nice looking baits!! Did you paint the blade? What type of paint did you use to paint the blade. You have a good imagination. Tally
Coley
Thanks to you all for nice comments. Yes, I painted the blades. Because I don't make many I sand the blades with 320 paper, then prime with krylon white primer. Then I use walmart craft paint which is in the craft section. I use an airbrush on the blades and a regular small paint brush on the body. Then Devcon 2T on all of it. The skirts are dyed Lumaflex. I use India ink in various colors and spike-it worm dye. If I was making a lot of baits I would use some type of self etching primer on the blades. I have discovered you can use fingernail polish over the white primer and it will start to dissolve the primer and give a very unique color.
