bobG
I pour inside, with all the windows, doors and skylights open, and get very good ventilation. But, even at that, there still are some fumes. I want to buy one of those half mask respirators just to be on the safe side. What do you guys use? tia
nova
Get one that handles organics. I use a 3m full face respirator. They are expensive but what price do you put on your eyes? I have had 2 pyrex cups blow up on me. Both times it was my fault; but it only takes a second and a brain hicup and then it's too late. www.novalures.com
jake4321
Hi BobG, I have the AO Safety Quicklatch Pro Respirator (Half Mask) from Sears. It cost ~$40. With that I used safety goggles. "Description Respirator with an easy-on, easy-off feature. Comes with high-efficiency P100 filter cartridges (replacement 95061 cart.) that contain charcoal to absorb organic vapors and acid gas. NIOSH approved TC-84A-4005. Recommended for protection against paint and pesticide sprays/vapors, chlorine and muriatic acid, lead and asbestos dust/fumes, fiberglass insulation, solvents/glues/thinners, lacquers and enamels, sanding dusts and particles."
