instigator
I stumbled onto this site pretty much by accident while searching for information on how to make lures. Very impressive, well laid out, with tons of good information along with entertaining data. I continue to wade through all the information on this site as I try and develop some knowledge and skills in making lures. I fish primarily for Rock Fish (Striped Bass), Sea Trout, and Blues in the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Some of the custom items I have seen already on this site are truly impressive and it appears that the only limit is ones imagination. Made my first attempt last weekend at making some Bucktails and Parachute lures. Not bad for a first attempt but pretty low level compared to the artists and craftsman on this site. But being 52 and soon retiring, I need a hobby for when it is too cold to fish. Clearly learned that if your doing this to save money that it does not work as I have spent more on getting ready to make this stuff than I normally spend on tackle in 3 months. Any how, glad I found this site and I will be looking in on a regular basis. Jim (Instigator)
Markell
Welcome to the forums. I know what you mean about the money. I have had to step back and force myself to slow down on my spending. This is a very rewarding and addictive hobby. You will find a wealth of knowledge here.
