BobP
Well, you can only shoot it with an airbrush if the flake is very small so brushing is usually the deal. The problem I have with flake in clearcoat is that it's hard to distribute it exactly where you want it while at the same time doing a good job applying the clear. So I prefer to brush on the flake beforehand, using cheapo water based sparkle paint. $2 a bottle and it comes in a wide variety of colors. I squirt a little into a shot glass and thin it with water about 50/50, then use a soft artist's brush. You can exactly control how much flake goes where on the bait, which is a big advantage. Dab some on, take some off, move it around. When it dries, you can concentrate on doing a good clearcoat without worrying about the flake. A-Mac
Not sure how well this will work with dn, but I just dab my finger in the glitter and rub my fingers together over the lure while it turns. It's definately a mess and you waste glitter, but it looks nice and sticks well to the wet epoxy. Glitter is cheap so I don't worry about wasting a little to make it look right.
