cadman
Can anyone tell me if Hilts molds pour well. Also is Hilts the only place you can buy them at or do they have distributors? Thanks for the help.
JSC
Hi Ted... I have some of them and they all pour well .. the ones I have are about 20 years old ... I think you can only get them direct ... i could be wrong on that ... I think that some one else has bought them out since I purchased the ones I have... Hope that helps JSC
Fatman
Cad, JSC is correct, they were bought out by Dolphin Sports. Here's the site address: Hilts Molds: quality fishing tackle making products. but as you can see at the bottom it hasn't been updated since 2002. On the online store that hasn't been updated since 2005. This is their contact info from the site: Dolphin Sports, Inc. 881 South Rose Place Anaheim, CA 92805 Phone: (714) 687-9160 Email: info@hiltsmolds.com You can find a few of them on ebay but you have to search under Lead Molds and that brings up the old Palmers, Avant (sp), Herters etc. Fatman

Ogajiga
The Hilts jig head molds I have tried had a round inlet gate which IMO made clean sprue removal a bit more difficult that the almond shaped Do-it gates. The ones II tried were well fitted and poured clean castings.
BLT
I have 1/8 and 1/4 oz. bullet heads and they pour well. Don't care for the feel of the handles, but that's a small issue. Have some sinker molds of theirs also.
