Greers Ferry anyone?

Recommended Posts

I live on the west side of Arkansas near the Oklahoma border and have never fished Greers ferry....I remember going there as a kid one time, but thats the only time i've been there....the Arkansas game and fish site had this to say about the lake.

Greers Ferry is widely known as a record-producing fishery. The lake is currently home of the world record walleye (22lb. 11oz.) and state record hybrid, striped bass (27lb. 5 oz.). The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has stocked almost every game fish native to the state in the lake. The lake supports healthy populations of black basses (largemouth, smallmouth and spotted), bream, crappie, catfish, walleye, white bass and hybrid, striped bass. Whether you fish every day, once a month or once a year, Greers Ferry provides angling excitement all year long.

The Little Red River, downstream of Greers Ferry Dam, is known world-wide as a premier trout fishery. The river is home to several trout species including brown, brook, cutthroat and rainbow. The current world record brown trout, a 40 lb. 4 oz. monster, was taken from the river in 1992. Trout fishing the Little Red River makes for exciting memories every day of the year.

Sounds good don't it?.....heres a link to their website if you want to know more about the lake and the area. Little Rock District - Greers Ferry Lake

Good luck and enjoy the beauty of the natural state, and I hope ya catch a big'n.:yay:
