finlander
I am ready to order a gallon from Del and am wondering if I need heat stabilizer. Someone mention the temp it needs to be and stabilizer is needed at what temperature?? Thanks from 'still-a-rookie'
Senkosam
According to my bud at Bear Paw Handpours, Calhoun's needs no stabilizer like LC's plastic and the temp to cook at is much less (ie. 2-3 on a Lee Pot). Most important is to stir it very well so the ingredients are uniform, otherwise you'll get a gloppy mess. He poured some for me using a new pearl powder sample I got, and the plastic is superb. Mercury
When ever using florescent colors be it calhouns, LC or who ever I add heat stabilizers. If not the colors will change and not be so bright. Standard colors are no big deal, but bright colors are somthing else.
BassnG3
I found that using stabilizer is important when reheating especially if glitter is involved! BassnG3
Delw
From what calhoun plastics told me . Heat stabilizer is not needed in calhoun plastic like you do in other plastics. Calhoun has about 15%( I believe thats the number) more heat stabilizer than other brands of Plastic, this is why it can be heated hotter.
