Coosa Redeye
So would this be Hand Poured or Hand Injected? I just prefer "Handmade."
carolinamike
Don't know how it was made, but it's definetly custom and very patriotic!

dtrs5kprs
I think for ease of information access, it still wouldn't hurt to split the two subjects. Right now, if you want to find info on injection topic "X", you have to sift thru the Soft Baits page. If you are strictly injecting and looking for injection topic "X", that means you are wasting a lot of time working around the pouring posts. BBK
If it was hand poured that took some skill Looks like he poured the legs, eyes, claws and the white top with the mold open then closed it and injected the blue.
96dak
Looks like he poured the legs, eyes, claws and the white top with the mold open then closed it and injected the blue. nope it is a combination of both pouring and injecting though
GB GONE
nope it is a combination of both pouring and injecting though I'll guess injected the red, then opened the mold, cut the claws and the appendages off, poured the white and then injected the blue after closing the mold... Die Hard Custom Baits
WOW! I've been away from the site for quite a few months and have not been pouring much since spring time. I was too busy fishing tournaments and staying out of the hot garage. But now that I finished the tournament season and accomplished my goal of AOTY in my local club and the weather has gone winter again, I've come back to TU to get freshed. I realized a lot has changed with these hand injectors coming out. I did a search here to find out more and found this thread. After hours of reading and getting caught up, I now want to try this process out too. I'm not sure all my questions were answered here, but this has been a great read. I will place an order and then try it out and post my results and finding after. Thanks to everyone for all the help and info.

robbor
Id like to see more pics of the injectors and their parts, i need to make one. They seem pretty simple from what i have seen so far. As far as Orings as some guys have asked, you can go to mcmaster and find orings out of different materials, their properties and temperature resistances. They list Orings that will take up to 600F but they are not cheap, most Orings are 400F or more so they should mold up fine. My concern is getting what im paying for, Id rather not pay $50 or more for an injector made out of 6061 when maybe $5 worth of material aluminum when into it. But im to picky most of the time anyway.
Delw
Id rather not pay $50 or more for an injector made out of 6061 when maybe $5 worth of material aluminum when into it. But im to picky most of the time anyway. Send me $7.36 plus shipping and I will send you the Aluminum material you need to make one. then you can go spend the 100k worth of machines and tooling to make it unless you can do it on hand machine then you can get away with 10-30k. oh BTW your getting the material for that price cause thats what it costs me when I buy the material to make a 50 at a time, I get a discount. by the time you add shipping in you might as well buy a suction gun from napa for 12 bucks wait for them to go on sale and there 8 bucks( the part number is listed on this forum somewhere) they hold a pint of plastic and people been using them for years, replace the cup washers ( there new cup washers suck) while your at it I am sure you would like a new boat. 5gals of fiberglass runs about 80 bucks you could have as little as 1k in materials for your very own 21foot firberglass bass boat if you get the fiberglass one sale your reply is a classic example of why all of our shit is made in china and Americans are having a hard time finding work and jobs thanks for supporting your country Delw Edited December 19, 2009 by Delw

Let me tell you that at home I have a mill and lathe and my thought were the same as posted above I was going to make one myself. After getting yours I threw up my hands and said that I cannot do that good of a job in a day. So is it worth making my own NO the quality and craftmanship you put in yours is second to none. At least from what I see. Once you see all the work that is done in the Delw injector, it is a wonder that he can sell it for such a small price. I will tell you all one thing if he was making these as a sole source of income he would be eating rice and beans not steak. Now like I said I do have machines at home to make this and at least I believe my time could be spent doing other things and leave that kind of thing to the ones that do it Well. Can you make an injector, yes and it will work but can you duplicate the quality in Delws at home, I dont think so. This is not a post to say any ones injector is better than any others just that the workmanship in Delws is high. When you get one you will see. When you get two you can compare. When you make one yourself you will understand. Just my two cents worth. This is a classic example of stepping over a dollar to pick up a nickle. robbor
Thanks for the offer del, what type of aluminum do you guys use 7075, 2024??? I had a mold made years ago when one of my favorite lures was discontinued, then took a cnc class and made another along with 6 jighead molds. I wish i still had access to the cnc mill, lots of fun. My cost was about $100 for all the small speciality mills we did not have at school and rems. I wish i could have made more, Id really like a mold similar to the 1" crappie slider but i ran out of time.
