mainbutter
There are many options out there for different plastics available and they all have their uses. I'm jumping in and ordering some supplies to start making my own soft plastics. I'm going to start off pouring some non-huge swimbaits, I'm thinking a 'basic' swimbait with a lure slot. My only question is do I start off with formula 500, 502, or 536? (strongest, medium, or softest?) I bet they all have their uses in standard swimbaits. I'm probably going to order the 502 unless suggested otherwise thanks!
Zbass
The 502 is a good all around medium compound. it will work pretty good for swimmers. Are you cooking with a micro or hot plate? Some plastics act better than others in a micro. A hot plate is a good way to cook and it is the way that I use.
BBK
What brand were you looking at?
GB GONE
What brand were you looking at? Those are LC brand numbers. LC medium is the best of those choices. Not to stiff even for smaller baits and will be durable enough to get a few fish from each bait. Be sure you stir the plastic WELL before each use as LC plastic settles out. I have cooked (just last night actually) 502 in the mic and on a hot plate. You won't have issues either way. Jim

Long Lake Lures
Mainbutter, which mold are you going to use? the 869 requires the use of 536. It doesn't swim well with 502. Hope this helps, Dave
