luvtwofish
Hey all! I've been using worm oil from various manufactures and wondering if there's any household items that can be used as an alternative? Maybe some kind of oil in the kitchen or Pam? I usually use worm oil for bagging, cutting tails on tubes, etc. Thank you in advance for any advice!
mainbutter
I have heard WD-40 is used to scent lures sometimes, but I don't use it personally.

alsworms
Also stay away from baby oil. That will make your baits hard as rocks!
dtrs5kprs
Also stay away from baby oil. That will make your baits hard as rocks! Mineral oil also. Same issue. If it is just a bagging issue you can just toss the warm baits in a pan of salt, then bag. Idea is not to impregnate the baits with salt, just coat them. Sort of acts like a dry lube, no leakage. I do the same thing, except I put the worms in a gallon size ziplock, fill it with air and add a tbs of salt. Shake like crazy to coat all the worms. I've used PAM as a coating before, HAS TO BE BUTTER FLAVOR!.
nova
Also stay away from baby oil. That will make your baits hard as rocks! Mineral oil is the basis for baby oil so stay away from that as well. Duh; I didn't see the post about mineral oil. Sorry. www.novalures.com Edited October 31, 2009 by nova
hawghunterbaits
I have heard of wd 40 being used as an attractant if fact I belive if you go to their web site it does say that is one of the use's. Anyways for what worm oil cost I don't see anything that would work as good and go as far as worm oil.(just my 2 cents worth)
