DDl, you must be doing something different with you painting methods because powder is more chip resistant that anything else I used, however the only paint worth putting on a jig besides powder is vinyl. Vinyl moves with the jig such as if your jig head develops a dent, the finish will conform rather than chip but it will chip eventually. Do you cure your powder painted jigs after painting?

yes i cure,like they suggest.

some spinnerbaits like marv's m@g use real paint and the thing they made is at least 50% more chip resistant than any powder painted head.

a shop near my home also make some spinnerbaits head that are painted and the thing is very chip resistant

Cure time & heat is very much dependent on color. Would be interested in finding which color(s) are causing problems. Even dragging FB heads in rocks we usually wear the jig out or break it off before we damage the paint.

What brand of paint were you dipping? Age? Clearcoat?

As above, vinyl is really the only other practical alternative. For black heads onbig jigs you can use Plasti-Dip with decent results.

maybe the secret technic is the same that they use for blades paiting?

ddl,

There is no secret technique. I will agree with the others. Vinyl is the best if you want single colors. The only problem is the smell and you can't do multi-colors with vinyl paint. I use up to six colors. Since the smell bothers me, I use powder paint. If painted and cure correctly, it will not chip off. I lose more jigs before I worry about paint chipping off. Also you can clear coat your jigs and blades with a powder clearcoat or epoxy if you want them to last longer. If you're interested I can show you some pics of epoxy coated jigs. PM me your e-mail
