Muddy Tires
Hello all, I just finished another Lake Trout trolling lure. This one has a steel spine recycled from an old VCR case, BB rattles, a salt chamber, Lexan diving lip and googly eyes. What do you think? allstate48
Where do you get the bug eyes? Thanks Doug
Muddy Tires
Hello Allstate, I got a large bag of 100 from a local dollar store. They had two sizes 1/8 and 1/4 inch for $0.99 a bag. I have also seen them at our local craft store. They are probably not the most realistic, but I like the goofy look they give to the bait. RiverMan
You did an amazing job on that Greg, that thing looks really real! I have only seen on burbot in my life and that was many yrs ago while in college. It looks very much like the bullheads we have around here.....great job! jed
clemmy
Love the bait! It really brings me back! I'm in Florida now, but I grew up in Minnesota. When I was like 6 my family entered an ice fishing tourney on lake Minnetonka. My mom took second place with a 4 lbs. Eelpout (burbot). I thought it was disgusting, but it won her a 2.2 horse johnson outboard. Looking back on it, it's a great memory, but I can't help wondering why they were giving away an outboard motor as a prize in an icefishing contest.
