Hi all,

Hoping someone can help, i want to start pouring my own plastic baits over here in the UK... does anyone know where i can get hold of microwavable plastics that are suitable? I've been looking on and off for a while but seem to keep drawing blanks.

I've been on here browsing for quite a while and thought its about time i just asked as i'm sure someone can help.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I'm in Ireland and I buy my stuff from Lurecraft

Postage isn't cheap but the service is exceptional

some of the molding stuff can be bought from Hobby.uk.com

Don't know one in particular , but have you checked My link ?

On the entry site there click on the "links" symbol on the left(yellow lure) , after a site with three different link options would show , ...click "manufacturers links" and a list with heaps of lure-fishing related sites from the UK , Europe , USA and worldwide would open up , ......maybe you'd be lucky in there ?

I know , that there is a source for such stuff in Germany (or the Netherlands or Switzerland , not quite sure anymore) as well , I've visited their site once before ,....... if you want , I could try trace it again !

good luck , diemai :yay:

Hi Mark

I know what you mean, the UK is a luremaking barren wilderness. I have in the past got parts from Holland. They sell soft plastic and colours/glitter ect. Downside is as usual cost. I have never found a supplier in the UK.

Hi Mark,

I live in Switzerland and order my plastic from MF in the US, good quality, good price and good service, the shipping works out ok (aprox 40$) if you order at least a gallon and have it shipped by US postal service by sea (NOT AIRMAIL!) but it takes up to 8 weeks!

I tried the plastic from Lureparts.nl which I found pours just as well but boy does it stink!!! (IMO in comparison to MF plastic)

As for VAT and customs duty etc...it hasn't been consistant for me, once i paid an additional charge (aprox 25£) but the other two or three time I never paid any import duty or VAT!

Both lureparts.nl and the French site Bricolure sell rtv for making molds, however I only use POP to make my molds and also have a few aluminium ones that i got from the TU classifieds.

Good luck and look forward to seeing soem more euro pours in the gallery!

Cheers,

Simon

I think I gave Lureparts.nl the kiss of death when I put up the link, it seems they have removed the plastics pouring stuff they had

Funnily enough I was just emailing the site owner, Oscar, about this and he appologises but he has stopped stocking the plastic.

Also looking for a UK supplier.
