Jig Man
The dies that I have for plastics tend to bleed after a few weeks. The top one has been done for a while and you can see the blue bleeding into the chartreuse. The bottom was dipped today. Is there a process, chemical or type of dye that won't bleed. There are some colors that will bleed no matter what. But all the color manufacturers make colors that are non bleed. They will usually mark them on their sites or books with a star or some thing. You just need to try to find non bleeding colors.
gone2long
Who's colorant are you using? I haven't had any problems like that but some will bleed they list when they are non-bleed colorants.
Jig Man
The most problems are happening with dyes from Ranger Bait Co and Spike It. They really bleed into the chartreuse.
empire247
jigman, there is 2 types of coloring for soft plastics, dyes and pigments. all dyes will bleed, pigments wont, call up whoever you buy from your coloring from and ask which one it is. if its pigment it wont bleed. for chartruse i use lurecraft and i had a problem with it bleeding then i asked them and they told me to use thier green chartruse cause its pigment and just cut back on the number of drops per once. 4 oz plastic 4 drops LC green chartruse chartruse that wont bleed im not sure which ones of thier colors are pigments but im sure they would tell you if asked, theyn have several blues and im sure at least one should be a pigment. hope that helps brett

bojon
This is a good point. The dyes are bad at bleeding. You can stop it by using the oil pastels. The only way I was able to make a white tube with a bright red nosed was to go with the oil pastels.
