gone2long Posted December 13, 2009 Report Share Posted December 13, 2009 Just curious if anybody likes to Pre-Mix their plastic and store it that way. For example you have a recipe for Watermelon and you use that for all types of baits with different flake for different baits. Can you make say a 1/2 gallon batch and just add flake, salt at the time of pouring, is there pro's and con's with this idea, just curious if there would be degradation issues or something like that. daveh Posted December 13, 2009 Report Share Posted December 13, 2009 i read on here a while back a guy pre makes his plastic. he cooks it and pours it on a cookie sheet and saves it for furture pours. i have 3 tubs of plastic from the last 3 years of pouring, i used some watermelon red a few days ago i have had for 2 years. worked great. just add the flake after you cook it and you will be good to go. also pre cooked plastic cooks faster. GB GONE Posted December 14, 2009 Report Share Posted December 14, 2009 I have tried this with a few colors and found certain colors will fade (BLUE) and change. If you add the pre-cooked to some newly cooked plastic, it works great... Other issue is moisture. If the pre-cooked isn't stored in laminate bags, you will get moisture and BUBBLES... If I pre-mixed my colors, with my luck I would get a rush order that needs lets say 2 gallons of Redbug.
