Flatsrat76 Well I contacted the guys over at panfishpro.com and asked them what they were made of and I got this e-mail Thank you for writing to us. Currently, the Mini-Mite™2 jig head is made with a metal called bismuth. Similar to lead in mass and weight, it is not toxic like lead and is considered to be environmentally safe. We use the word “currently” as the price of bismuth has increased about 1000% (one thousand) in price over the last few years. The reason for the increase is that the metal is being used in more application where lead once was. It’s that old supply and demand rule I suppose. Should the price continue increase, that either has to be reflected in the finished product, or, the material of the product must be changed. We sincerely hope this email has answered your questions. If not, please do not hesitate to write us back. Best Regards, Steve Meyer
