Hey guys i've been looking for an extremely realistic crawdad imitation in a soft plastic the only place that i have found exactamundo baits was in the Clear Lake Bait and Tackle shop the inscription on the botton says famous lures and i haven't been able to find them anywhere and i got a couple Craws livin in my fish tank yes they look yummy but i don't dare. So if any one has tried molding a real Crawdad or real fish for that matter please let me know and tell me how ya did it. so Thanks

Try searching the posts of member Crawchuck. He has many explanations of this. He used to mold crawdads and frogs.

Search KGM Custom Baits on the goog. I have a bunch of the King Craws, they are about 6" I think. They are a one sided pour but are quite good looking. If you look at the pics, my buddy Tag has won several tourneys on them using a 1oz football, in high winds 1oz football with a bullet weight on the front to keep it down. Tags Camo and WA Craw are sick colors

Yes you can, it works. Stick a pin through the crawdads head to kill it so it doesn't move when you make your mold.

This is what i needed right here, awesome! So far i am just waiting for my crawdad to molt and regenerate a couple of legs and then into the mold he is gonna go awesome Thanks Man.

I know that Crawchuck makes his molds from plaster first then from RTV but I am pretty sure that one or the other could be used first hand instead of making two molds... although i can see why he did that. It was because he didn't want to waste silicone on a mold that may not have come out well. What I am planning on doing is different from the way that Crawchuck did his craws.

I had a bunch of his molds and they were made of gypsum
