Elastex? A New Plastic For Soft Plastic Baits.

Recommended Posts

i was watching this show tonight on Verses called Fishing University, and had this guy on called "Z-man". he is claiming that the soft plastic lures they make are made from this stuff called "elastex". i have looked on the internet and haven't really been able to find anything on it. it is supposed to be non toxic, very flexable, and very strong. it also has a positive buoyancy. has anyone ever heard of this stuff? does anyone know here you can buy it? i am curious to learn more about this and to see if it will suit my needs.

I think Zona is another guy all together. The company is called Z-Man, and they now have the original chatterbait. I haven't seen Mark Zona's name mentioned in any of the adds I have seen for this company.

Calhoun used to sell it. Very hard to work with and it cannot be microwaved...only heated by an element. You were very limited as to what pigments could be added...I think only powder could be used. I had some and never attempted using it as plastisol is far more user friendly. Strike King makes their chunks from it.
