RayburnGuy
Can anyone tell me if Createx transparent base is compatible with Createx pearls? The pearls don't act the same as the regular Createx paint and it seems like someone once told me that the pearls were actually different in some way. I'm wanting to try and make the pearls somewhat transparent and was hoping I could use the transparent base with them. thanks guys, Ben
RayburnGuy
Just in case anyone else was wondering about this I contacted the tech department at Createx and they told me that their transparent base is indeed compatible with their pearls. CL Rods
I know you have your answer, and wanted to just expand it a bit. They also have an illustration base that will help with paint flow (thinning out a color) that I have used with their colors and other companys. There are a couple of companies such as Jacquard (available at Hobby Lobby and others), that sell powders that you can mix with the Createx Translucent base to create a number of irridescent and pearl effects. I also spray micro fine glitter by mixing it in the base. Just make sure you are using a .05 or larger tip.
JLester
I've have had no problem using the 2 together. Works fine for me. The only problem I have is shooting the pearl colors. Seens like there not thinned enough. I thin them down some and lower my air pressure, seems to help, but still have trouble. I have mixed pearl pigment with clear and made some good looking colors. Hope this helps.

Ben If I need a transparent pearl effect I dust the bait with white and hit it with Wasco shimmering green, gold, blue, red, etc.....
