Jason O
I epoxied some jigs yesterday with 30 min. epoxy and they are still tacky this morning. Is there anything I can do to salvage these jigs? What caused this? I've only used epoxy a few times but I've never had any problems till now. Thanks for any help. cadman
Jason, I don't know what the time span was from when you applied it to when you touched it, but if you measured it(equally) correctly and you mixed it thoroughly, the epoxy should harden(cure) in 24 hours. If it still is sticky after that, then you did not do the 2 steps above correctly. You can mix another batch and apply it over the first one and your jigs will be good to go. Just wait another 24 hours for the second coat to dry.
smalljaw
You were short on hardener when you mixed the epoxy, I has the happen while trying to stretch the last of my epoxy, I had a tad bit more resin than hardener and 2 days later they were tacky but I got some more epoxy, mixed it and applied it over the first coat and problem solved!! Make sure when you mix the next batch you have equal amounts of both parts or the same thing will happen, D2T is pretty forgiving but you still need to be pretty close.
