unclelouiespinners
I make custom nylon coated wire spinner baits. The use of the 7 strand stainless steel wire and unique components makes for great fish catching lures. If you are not using spinner baits you are missing one of the hottest fishing options around. By mixing different components such as bead colors and sizes, blade styles colors and sizes, in line weights, hooks and more the possibility of designs are endless. I have zeroed in on a few styles and colors that seem to work under nearly all conditions. Last season in Canada we pull into a new bay where three other boats from our lodge are leaving. We wave as they depart and begin targeting the weed along the shores. Between 9 and 12 we catch over 100 fish. When we talk later with the fishermen who left the same bay they had not caught anything so they left. They were jig fishing the humps. I mention this because having the option to cover more water often lets you find the fish. Along one pass of the shore we first caught walleyes, then bass then northern. We were able to go back and target the species we wanted later. I must add that on a hot still day back trolling these lures is not only very effective but very cooling to do. You can place a line over the side let out 10 to 50 feet and catch lots of fish. I do best trolling along weedy areas especially bays. Kelkay
Well this sure sounds interesting to me. I am just starting to make a few inline spinners. That is one of my favorite things for conventional fishing to use. I mostly fly fish, but I still love my spinners. (mostly inline) I would love to see some of your work if you want to post some photos.
